Kasey Magness is a proud Union alumna and an active member of the Union community. She attended Boevers Elementary and graduated from Union Alternative School. After high school, she became a Paramedic, and went on to graduate from Rogers State University with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, followed by the University of Oklahoma for her Master’s in Nursing Administration. She has worked in the healthcare field for the past 15 years, and after many years as an ER nurse at Saint Francis Trauma Emergency, now works as a Home Health/Community Nurse for the Saint Francis Health Care System. She is the recipient of the Nursing Excellence Award from Saint Francis Health System in 2016.
Kasey is very active in the Union community, currently serving as the Secretary on both the Union 8th-Grade Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) and as the Union Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Council for the District. She also contributes to the Union Parent Legislative Action Committee (PLAC) and helps promote public policies that strengthen public education. Last year, she founded the"Union Community Supporting Teachers Needs through Donations" group to connect the community with teachers who need help meeting their classroom needs, which has been a great success. Most recently, she served on the District Reentry Committee which created Union students' guidelines to returning to school safely in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kasey is passionate about the health and safety of our students and staff within the Union community.
Married to a Broken Arrow school teacher and coach, Kasey and her husband have five children. Three sons have attended John Brown University, while their 8th grade son attends the Union 8th Grade Center, and the couple also have a one year-old daughter. Kasey is a proud member of the Choctaw Nation.
